Slick took it lightly initially, but when he found bullet holes on his door one day, he got enraged and bought weapons for defense. In 1990, he found Plummer near his house, so he fired four bullets at him. Along with Plummer, a passerby was injured because of his reckless shooting. Soon the police arrived and detained him.
Slick was brought to court, where he was convicted of illegal arms possession and attempted murder. He argued it was self-defense, but his arguments were not accepted, and he got five years jail sentence.
During his jail sentence, in 1991, he released his second album, “The Ruler’s Back.” The album reached the twenty-ninth place on the Billboard chart but received mixed responses. Many people didn’t like it, and it was not as successful as his first album.
In 1994, Slick released his third album titled “Behind Bars.” This album was also a disaster and wasn’t liked by people. But with time, it got a fifty-one place on Billboard 200 chart.
In 1997, Slick was released from jail. After completing his punishment, he changed himself thoroughly. He began giving lectures to kids on violence and how it destroys life. In 1999, he released his fourth album, “The Art of Storytelling.”

In 2002, Slick was again arrested for his illegal stay in the US. He remained in prison for seventeen months before the matter reached court.
